The Free Library, curated by Mark Owens, is a collection of work by progressive designers with an affinity for the utopian collectives of the past. It has been exhibited in various forms at the Riviera Gallery in Brooklyn in 2004, at Space 1026 in Philadelphia and at M+R Gallery in London in 2005. Serving as both an art show and reading room, the Free Library is designed as space for interested parties to come and hang out, read and listen, take a nap in a bean bag chair, or wherever their fancy leads. |
