NY77 is a Vh1 Rock Doc executive produced by Nanette Burstein and Jeremy Amar. My role was that of director of visuals / art director, as well as being a general consultant and music composer. The visuals were created with David Ahuja and Todd Neale, and the idea was to capture the spirit and approach of the late 70s while given them contemporary flourish. The identity for the show was simply taking the show title components, the NY and 77 respectively, and embellish them in different styles to reflect the diversity of material in the show itself, which is an examination of how the city's turmoil set the stage for 77 to be a pivotal year for the city artistically, politically, and socially. |
